About the role

We are now on the lookout for a Workplace Health, Safety & Wellbeing Specialist to join our HR team. In this role, you will work at a strategic level to develop overarching policies / frameworks to ensure our business complies with all relevant legislation, whilst also empowering our teams with the right knowledge to operate safely in their roles.

Reporting to the General Manager of People & Culture, you will:

• Develop and maintain our WHS strategy, policies, health & wellbeing initiatives, safety management plans and systems, at a store as well as a corporate level.
• Partner with senior leadership to nurture a safety culture across all organisational levels.
• Provide subject matter expertise to the business on areas including risk assessments, organisational safety, legislative requirements, incident investigation, training etc.
• Work with external Workers Compensation Administrators to manage claims.
• Proactively identify legislative and organisation WH&S training requirements, rolling out to relevant teams.
• Ad hoc tasks and projects as dictated by business requirements.

With a couple of years' experience under your belt, you are passionate about all things safety and wellbeing, and are now looking to join organisation to grow a safety culture that you can be proud of. Given this position operates across our store network and distribution centre, travel will form a key part of the role.
