A 12-month maternity leave contract (four days per week) has become available in the Health and Safety Team. The role is for a Health and Rehabilitation Advisor who enjoys a challenge and is committed to achieving results with the opportunity to impact positively on the health and wellbeing of our Kmart employees.

You will primarily be responsible for the management of claims and non-work-related cases across the NSW and ACT portfolio, alongside a Health and Rehabilitation Specialist. The key focus is on developing and promoting injury management strategies focussing on early injury recovery and sustainable return to work. 

Through the facilitation of early intervention and innovative return to work outcomes you will contribute to the overall success of the organisational goals in relation to claims cost reduction, improved productivity and sustainable outcomes. You will provide support to facilitate and coordinate training and coaching programs focussed on both health promotion and rehabilitation and return to work. A strong focus will be on ensuring that site managers are equipped with skills and expertise to implement the initiatives developed and to ensure ownership by the business.

To be successful you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in workplace based rehabilitation, preferably in a self-insured environment;
  • Previous experience delivering and facilitating training;
  • Ability to influence health practitioners in the workers compensation and personal illness setting;
  • Experience as a RTW coordinator (formal certification preferred);
  • Demonstrable experience achieving goals and reaching positive outcomes
  • Excellent communication, relationship building and influencing skills to negotiate and drive outcomes;
  • Ability to work autonomously whilst contributing to team goals.
