The Role

  • Plan, perform and deliver evidence based assessment and treatment of physical injuries to work towards defined treatment goals. 
  • Provide physiotherapy advice, instruction and recommendations to patients and other health professionals.
  • Maintain knowledge, experience and skills in physiotherapy, clinical competencies and mandatory training in accordance with health policies. 
  • Demonstrate and apply knowledge in physiotherapy and share clinical knowledge with colleagues.
  • Communicate with injured members to deliver evidence based assessments and treatments and liaise with medical staff to progress work and meet business objectives.
  • Work collaboratively, operate as an effective team member and provide constructive feedback.
  • Conduct exercise prescription, gym based rehabilitation programs and physiotherapy related return-to-work rehabilitation services.

About our Team
The Edinburgh Health Centre Physiotherapy department is a modern, well equipped facility that provides services at RAAF Base Edinburgh, as one of three clinics delivering healthcare to ADF members in South Australia.

Joint Health Command (JHC) provides a joint health effect to enable ADF capability and care for our people. Through the delivery of reliable, resilient, affordable and best practice health services, JHC enables a healthy, ready, and supported Force from enlistment through to transition.
 
The Physiotherapy department is part of a multidisciplinary team of medical and allied health professionals that together with external providers deliver high quality healthcare to ADF members for JHC to meet its objectives.

Our Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have a high level of knowledge and skills in the management of acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. Experience in sports physiotherapy would be advantageous.

  • They will have 4-5 years relevant experience and be able to provide mentoring to junior staff if required.
  • They will be able to work independently with reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of their work outcomes.
  • They will use evidence based practice and will maintain currency in their knowledge and skills through a commitment to ongoing professional and self development. 
  • They will understand the importance of safety and quality and will follow policies and procedures as well as clinical standards, guidelines and codes of practice.
  • They will be an optimistic, highly motivated self starter, who will contribute towards a positive workplace culture.
  • They will have a positive attitude towards change and a willingness to be flexible and adaptable to meet business objectives for Defence.
