As an expert clinical practitioner the role will provide expert diabetes clinical and educational services to remote clinics and clients in the Barkly Region. This position is recognised by the multi-disciplinary team for their expertise and is a resource for others. The role includes the development of quality systems that support remote areas in the management of diabetes and vascular disease. Inherent to the role is a sound understanding of the health issues affecting Aboriginal populations.

The successful applicant will work both autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team in an extended clinical role while delivering evidenced based care.

The successful applicant is required to support and monitor outpatients to prevent hospital readmissions. Applicants will be required to have experience driving a manual vehicle and be eligible to obtain a NT drivers Licence, travel via 4WD or light aircraft to remote communities.
