Our data scientists need a creative, experienced Project Manager to help them deliver on the research potential to be derived from this exciting health data analytics initiative.

About the role:

The Project Manager (Human Genomes Platform) is responsible for overall project management of the $3M Global technologies and standards for sharing human genomics research data (“The Project”) to ensure that the Australian BioCommons’ vision is implemented on time and on budget. The role will work with the Associate Director and multiple Australian BioCommons’ partner organisations to manage the establishment and delivery of a “services toolbox” for improving FAIRness of genomic data sharing nationally. This toolbox will include a set of services that have been developed globally in alignment with international best practice for human genome data sharing, and when implemented locally, will lead to research gains in Australia arising from improvements in data management and access to new capabilities, especially the identification of cohorts within and across data holdings to enable new science and translation.

The Project Manager will play a central role in the management and coordination of a project team of about 8 FTE, distributed across Australia and employed by a variety of organisations: The University of Melbourne, Children’s Cancer Institute, Garvan Institute of Medical Research, the Australian Genomics Health Alliance, QIMR-Berghofer Medical Research Institute, Australian Access Federation, National Computing Infrastructure.
