Regional Manager, Office of the Public Guardian

  • Lead, manage and develop a regional team within Office of the Public Guardian, NSWTG
  • Temporary, Full-time (up to 12 months), with the possibility of becoming Ongoing
  • Location: Parramatta
  • Clerk Grade 9/10, Salary ($108,044 – $119,061 pa), plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading 


About us
The Department of Justice delivers legal, court and supervision services to the people of NSW by managing courts and justice services, implementing programs to reduce crime and re offending, managing custodial and community-based correctional services, protecting rights and community standards and advising on law reform and legal matters.

Supporting over 35,000 customers annually and administering in excess of $6bn in customer assets, NSW Trustee & Guardian (NSWTG) is a statutory agency within the Stronger Communities (formerly Justice) Cluster.  The agency supports the Chief Executive Officer of the NSWTG and the Public Guardian (PG), to protect and promote the rights, dignity, choices and wishes of the people of New South Wales. We do this by providing independent and impartial financial management, guardianship and trustee services that support our customers and help them manage their health, lifestyle and financial affairs and ensure their wishes are respected. 

Our services help support and protect some of the most vulnerable members of the NSW community, and support people at vulnerable moments in their life. 

About the role
The Regional Manager leads, mentors and coaches a team in the delivery of client-focussed quality services. The role provides high level advice and reports to management to support effective decision making. The role is also responsible for managing and allocating available resources, including ensuring employee-related budget is managed within time and allocation.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree or the equivalent experience in social, health, behavioural sciences or related discipline
  • Available to travel throughout NSW and to undertake after hours work on a rotational basis.

About you
To be successful in the role, you will have experience in managing a large team and have the ability to engage with a variety of people, and at times negotiate difficult matters, to achieve the best possible outcomes. You will also have experience in managing and allocating available resources to meet competing priorities, and a proven ability and commitment to supporting staff.
