Retail giant David Jones gas opened the country’s first in-store breast cancer screening service at its Hay Street store in central Perth.

The product of a new partnership between the State Government and David Jones, the facility hosts advanced digital mammography equipment and expert staff.

The clinic was opened by State Minister for Health Robyn McSweeney, David Jones Group Executive Cate Daniels and BreastScreen WA’s Dr Liz Wylie and hosted by TV personality and breast cancer advocate Kerri-Anne Kennerley.

“As many of us know, nearly 250 women die from breast cancer each year in WA alone,” Mrs McSweeney said.

“Breast cancer touches many local families and the best way we can reduce this disease is to detect and treat it as early as possible, which is why regular screening mammograms are so important.  Today’s new Rose Clinic means vital screening services will be more accessible and on the radar of WA women even as they shop.”
