A consortium led by Accenture has been awarded the contract to deliver IT infrastructure for the Federal Government’s $466 million e-health records system.

The consortium, which includes Oracle and Orion Health,  will undertake the detailed design and construction of the national system, integration with existing health IT infrastructure, and testing.

The project includes construction of an operations centre and core ICT infrastructure for the Personally Controlled Electronic Health Records (PCEHR) program, a calls centre to handle inquiries and the development of portals for healthcare suppliers and consumers to access e-health records.
