A new report warns of a potential fivefold increase in heat-related deaths by 2050.

An international report, co-authored by over 100 researchers and released today, says there has been an 85 per cent rise in heat-related deaths among individuals aged over 65 in the past 30 years.

The report urges immediate climate action to mitigate the potential rise in heat-related deaths.

Concerns are raised about the impact on vulnerable residents and the need for immediate climate action to avert the worst-case scenario.
