The Federal Government has announced the formation of a new agency that will be tasked to lead the Government’s designing of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

 

The federal agency will be responsible for overseeing new projects to identify practical ways to prepare the disability sector and workforce to deliver new ways of delivering disability services.

 

The Federal Government has provided $10 million for a seires of new projects that will examine how to deliver individual, personalized care.

 

The new agency’s work will build on the foundation reforms agreed by the Commonwealth, states and territories at the meeting of the Select Council on Disability Reform in October. Work to deliver the foundation reforms is now underway.
