Nominations have opened for the 2011 WA Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards.

Co-workers can nominate a nurse or midwife in a range of categories, encompassing all aspects of health care.

Nurses and midwives can also be nominated by patients and members of the public for the Consumer Appreciation Award.

2010 Midwife of the Year Sadie Geraghty said the awards were one of the highlights of her career and encouraged other nurses and midwives to consider nominating for this year’s event.

“Being part of such a big event was a once in a lifetime experience,” Ms Geraghty said.

“Not only did it help improve my confidence but it was also a great opportunity to meet so many like-minded nurses and midwives who share a similar passion for the job.”
