Wurli-Wurlinjang Health Service is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation delivering primary and clinical health care services to the Aboriginal people in Katherine and surrounding communities.  Wurli prides itself on delivering a range of health and wellbeing services to the community in a style and manner that makes clients feel welcome and comfortable. Services include acute and general care, chronic disease, Women’s & Children health, men’s health, alcohol and other drugs, social and emotional wellbeing and client support services.

Wurli clinics and primary health care programs are staffed with a range of professionals including Registered Aboriginal Health Practitioner, General Practitioners, Registered Nurses and other Allied Health Professionals.   Our multidisciplinary teams are empowered to provide holistic client centered care and are a team of passionate individuals who are keen to make a difference. 

We currently have an opportunity for a Registered Nurse who is passionate about making a difference for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community in Katherine, NT.  

The Connected Beginnings RN role includes both direct clinical and client co-ordination responsibilities for 0-5 year old children to increase health and developmental screening opportunities and improve school readiness.

The clinical role is responsible for delivery of client services in accordance with Wurli policy and procedures, guided by CARPA standard treatment manual and applicable legislation and regulations. This includes providing care to all clients of Women’s and Children’s Clinic as needed.

Our Registered Nurses are seen as pivotal in improving health outcomes for our community by contributing to and enhancing the management and prevention of poor health and providing mentor and clinical support training to other team members.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate:-

  • Bachelor of Nursing
  • Current AHPRA Registration
  • Current Criminal History Check
  • Working with Children Clearance
  • Current NT Drivers License 
  • More than five years’ experience Clinical Nursing Practice, including at least 1 year in Child Health.
  • Previous experience in working in a cross cultural service environment, particularly in Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander health care
