Public Events Senior Officer

Ambulance Victoria (AV) is recruiting for a permanent, full time Public Events Senior Officer to join the Emergency Management Unit (EMU). No two days are the same in this role, as you work with great experts that are responsible for leading the effective emergency management planning across Ambulance Victoria.

About the role

Reporting to the State Events Coordinator, the main duties of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Monitor, administer, and work as part of the events team to deliver the state wide function for booking and delivering public events.
  • Act as the initial point of contact for all public event coordination enquiries.
  • Support process improvement initiatives relating to public event management.
  • Participate in AV organised forums to share information with other team members.
  • Where directed, undertake the role of Management Support or similar within the Ambulance Emergency Operations Centre.

About you

To be considered for this position you will possess:

  • Team skills to actively participate as a member of a team and move the team towards the completion of both individual and team goals.
  • Experience in the area of public events management (desirable).
  • Australian Interagency Incident Management System qualification (desirable).
  • Demonstrated experience in project management or coordinating multiple business systems and processes

It is also expected that you possess demonstrated experience in project experience in project management or coordinating multiple business systems and processes with a sound understanding of finance and budgets. You have conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills to enable the identification of issues and the judgement to determine appropriate courses of action for achieving organisational skills. The ideal candidate would also have the demonstrated ability to manage work performance and deliver required outcomes within non-flexible timelines as well as the ability to remain calm under pressure during an emergency situation, and work effectively with team members, internal and external stakeholders during these times.

The salary for this position is in alignment with the Ambulance Victoria (Management and Administrative Staff) Enterprise Agreement 2021, grade AV3  plus 11% super.
