Senior Change Manager

  • $142,374.00 per annum + superannuation
  • Full Time Ongoing Role 
  • Geelong based – Hybrid working model

Purpose

The Enterprise Change Management Practice (ECMP) is a key enabler of WorkSafe’s strategic objectives. The ECMP’s role is to prepare, equip and support individuals to successfully adopt changes that contribute to achieving WorkSafe’s strategic objectives.

The Senior Change Manager plays a key role in the team by developing and implementing effective end to end change management plans and interventions for significant programs and large projects. This role ensures that resistance to strategic and operational change initiatives are minimised to avoid material impact on major change projects and other initiatives.

This role leads change management delivery and strategy across a large program of work, helping to ensure that changes driven by technology, processes, operating model, corporate strategy and government directives are successfully integrated across WorkSafe and associated organisations

Key accountabilities

  • Lead the creation of change management strategies and plans where change management activities are identified, scheduled and managed across the lifecycle of significant programs and large projects.
  • Lead Change Impact Assessments with key change stakeholders to inform strategies and change planning.
  • Develop and execute fit-for-purpose change activities and artefacts, including: case for change, stakeholder analysis, training needs analysis, communications plan, business readiness assessment, training plan, transition plan, and change effectiveness measurement for significant programs and large projects.
  • Initiate and lead engagement with sponsors and senior Business Unit leaders to identify and mitigate potential people risks for change.
  • Influence and guide decision-making in project forums and solution design by utilising an in-depth knowledge of change management principles and methods, organisational processes, regulation and requirements. This includes managing and socialising regular status reports of planned change activities against critical path timelines at project governance groups and business forums.

About you

We are seeking a self-motivated senior change management professional who is passionate about change and making a difference. You have excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to juggle multiple balls at the one time, working well under pressure and meeting deadlines.

You’re a natural problem solver who takes initiative with strong attention to detail and analytical skills and you bring a background in successfully leading and influencing diverse teams in large, complex transformation programs . 

Additionally, you will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Significant demonstrated experience and success in leading and implementing various major/high impact end to end change programs and projects within a complex environment, delivering on organisational objectives and building employee commitment and adoption through fit-for-purpose change plans.
  • Experienced in the development and implementation of change strategies and plans that address program objectives, utilising considerable industry knowledge and best practice change methodology. Proven ability to engage with, lead and influence senior and executive level stakeholders and multi-disciplinary team members within a complex environment to deliver effective organisational change outcomes.
  • Demonstrated capacity to exercise sound judgement, discretion and awareness in dealing with stakeholders representing diverse interests and agendas.
  • Experience applying change models and tools in complex organisations, combined with strong analytical, critical thinking, research and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to establish credibility quickly and gain a reputation as a trusted advisor to leaders, specialists and business team members alike.
  • Ability to lead a team of change managers and/or change analysts coordinating effort across streams in a complex program environment

Qualifications

  • A tertiary qualification in Change Management, Business, Organisational Development, Communications, Human Resource Management, Behavioural Science or equivalent.
  • Change Management Certification (Prosci preferred).
