  • Fulltime fixed term for four years based at the Brain and Mind Centre within the Camperdown campus

About the opportunity 

The Research Administration Officer will provide administrative services and operational support to the Chief Investigators and their team to support the research activity and requirements for the work area. The successful candidate will coordinate all calendars and travel arrangements of the Chief Investigators, coordinate all small grant administration and support within the ForeFront group and assists with their administrative running of the ForeFront group by coordinating and minuting all work meetings.

  • Tertiary qualifications in appropriate discipline and/or relevant experience in related field
  • Broad and well versed in science background knowledge
  • Extensive experience in developing and working on research projects, including expertise in using research protocols, experimental design, ethics submissions and grant applications
  • Experience in carrying out scientific literary searches, and preparing literary reviews for further analysis
  • Advanced skills data analysis, using statistical analysis tools, and reporting on research findings.
  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement and ability to prioritise workload during busy periods
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with sound negotiating and conflict resolution skills and a demonstrated level of tact and discretion in dealing with day to day operational matters
  • Experience in a research- intensive environment or interest in teaching and working in academia
