About the opportunity 

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will primarily work on projects for the Wiser Healthcare Research Collaboration, Sydney School of Public Health. Their focus will be on reducing over diagnosis and overtreatment for musculoskeletal conditions such as low back pain. They will be responsible for supporting the planning, conduct and dissemination of these projects working with the Director, Sydney Musculoskeletal Health and other Wiser Healthcare investigators.

The position will also be expected to contribute to the School of Public Health as a postdoctoral research associate (eg by providing ad hoc advice to junior PhD students, contributing to Division seminars, contributing to internal peer-review of grant applications).

• doctoral qualification in science, or public health field
• experience in the development and coordination of health research projects and/or clinical trials
• ability to be flexible and adaptable in the face of changing organisational priorities and ambiguous environments
• strong problem solving, analytical skills, and strategic thinking
• experience in writing research papers and grant applications. Track record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals
• excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well and flexibly ie autonomously, in small teams and with a wide range of varying stakeholders.
