About the opportunity 
The iCanADAPT Support Psychologist will primarily be responsible for monitoring registration, progress, clinical improvement or deterioration by online score monitoring, lesson and program completion of participants electing to undertake an online therapy program, iCanADAPT, to manage anxiety and/or depression for people who have been diagnosed and/or are receiving treatment for cancer. 

In this position, you will:

  • provide clinical psychological supervision of participants registered into the iCanADAPT Program
  • provide research and administrative support to the iCanADAPT Program
  • conduct data collection, data analysis and literature searches, aids in preparing preliminary reports
  • conduct research work as part of the broader Research agenda for PoCoG.

  • Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, registered with the Psychology Board of Australia, AHPRA
  • broad understanding of the principles of psychological therapy
  • demonstrable understanding and current knowledge of relevant aspects of the Work Health and Safety Policy
  • demonstrated understanding of research methodology.

Psycho-oncology Co-operative Research Group (PoCoG) is one of 13 national cooperative cancer clinical trials groups, with a mandate from Cancer Australia to increase collaboration and innovation in psycho-oncology research. Our aim is to improve outcomes for people affected by cancer by developing and facilitating high quality, collaborative and clinically relevant research focused on optimising psychosocial and supportive care. PoCoG has a membership of over 1200 researchers, clinicians, consumers and students from across Australia, New Zealand and internationally, working and studying in the area of psycho-oncology.

PoCoG is a national body that serves a broad community of psycho-oncology researchers across Australia. PoCoG is a centre of the University of Sydney and the operational centre is located within the School of Psychology. All PoCoG staff are employees of the University of Sydney.
