What you'll be doing

The Research Finance Partner supports the Research Business Manager, and is responsible for developing strong partnerships with senior research leaders and administrators, by providing financial reporting, as well as advice and guidance on finance related processes. This includes developing and implementing continuous improvements to the current finance related processes within Kids Research, to improve timeliness and accuracy of income and expense recognition.
  1. Tertiary qualifications in accounting or business and/or relevant experience within a Finance team of a medium to large organisation and/or extensive relevant experience within a health setting

  2. Demonstrated project-based accounting experience and aptitude to undertake analysis of complex financial and performance related data, to develop succinct interpretations of trends and issues arising from analysis

  3. Excellent communication skills, including a demonstrated capacity to communicate financial management and accounting concepts to a broad range of stakeholders

  4. Demonstrated advanced skills in a variety of computer software applications relevant to the role, including the MS suite and Oracle Financials, and ability to learn new systems as required

  5. Demonstrated ability to work independently, to take initiative and to drive positive results

  6. Exceptional organisational skills and demonstrated capacity to manage a busy workload and competing priorities

  7. Previous experience working in a research or grants management environment

  8. Previous experience in service development or enhancement

ASARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) 3 doses are required for Category A positions (refer to NSW Policy Directive PD2022_030 Occupational Assessment Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases).

ASARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) 3 doses are highly recommended for all other health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
