The Oncology Clinical Research Unit, Cancer Care Centre, St George Hospital, is seeking an enthusiastic clinical research coordinator to work in radiation oncology clinical trials.  This exciting opportunity will enable you to use your skills in a leading clinical research centre dedicated to improving the lives of people with cancer through research and quality care.  The role is a 12 month temporary full time position with the possibility of renewal subject to funding and work.

What you'll be doing

The Clinical Research Coordinator manages all aspects of oncology research from feasibility and planning through to implementation, participant enrolment and management, study conduct, data management, study close-out and archiving. The role is fundamental to delivering, managing and upholding the quality standards of the research conducted.  

Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.

All workers and new recruits are required to receive 2 doses of a Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine to commence employment/ engagement or continue to work within a NSW Health service.

A worker and new recruit will be considered compliant if they have a medical contraindication to all available Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccines and provide medical contraindication evidence in line with the policy requirements.

In addition, all Category A workers and new recruits are required to receive one dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine annually to be considered compliant.

Category A workers and new recruits who are non-compliant with seasonal influenza vaccination or have a medical contraindication to influenza or COVID-19 vaccinations must comply with all other infection control risk reduction strategies as directed while working in a Category A position.

  1. Bachelor of Science Degree.
  2. Experience conducting clinical trials and/or completed ICH Good Clinical Practice training.
  3. Attention to detail and ability to deliver accurate and complete documentation.
  4. Demonstrated ability to function effectively as a member of a team.
  5. Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritise, manage competing tasks and meet deadlines.
  6. Excellent computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office (outlook, word, excel, powerpoint, access).
  7. Demonstrated critical thinking, problem solving and organisational skills.
  8. Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
