Senior Research Officer (Implementation Science)

The Department

The Brain Recovery and Rehabilitation Group is a research team embedded in the Department of Neuroscience / Alfred Brain, that aims to improve the lives of adults living with neurological conditions by integrating research and clinical care. Led by Professor Natasha Lannin, the Group includes researchers based at the Department of Neuroscience of Monash University, Allied Health and the Alfred Brain services at Alfred Health, and another three national partner institutions.

We now have an exciting position for a Post-Doctoral Research Officer in Implementation Science.

Position Summary

The position will focus on testing interventions that facilitate the uptake of evidence-based research findings and their translation into clinical practice, with a particular focus on the PROMOTE trial.  PROMOTE is an exciting MRFF-funded cluster randomised trial investigating the use of implementation science in stroke rehabilitation.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated researcher to join our team.  In this highly collaborative role, you will work closely with researchers, clinicians, hospital staff, policy makers, and patients and their families. As part of the wider program of stroke research, you will also collaborate with multidisciplinary local, national and international researchers.

Skills 

The successful applicant for this role will hold qualifications in a relevant discipline with a strong understanding and experience in knowledge translation and implementation science. Along with this, you must also be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Experience in coordinating randomised controlled trials, with a focus on hospital-based and/or implementation trials.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience of working with range of stakeholders across healthcare including hospital executives, clinicians, inpatients living with stroke, and families.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills including evidence of academic writing (grants submissions/reports, ethics submissions/reports, and publications).
