About the role

The Sydney Institute for Women, Children and their Families is a central hub for research, education and policy related to the health and social wellbeing of women, children and their families within Sydney Local Health District. The Sydney Institute for Women, Children and their Families has a vision to maximise the health and social wellbeing of women, children and their families. 

The purpose of this position is to conduct and support research and provide project and business support to the Sydney Institute for Women, Children and their Families. 

This position is an integral member of the Institute and will provide broad project, administrative/business and research support to the Institute and its affiliates, through reviewing and supporting; grant applications, ethics applications, establishing databases, managing project financials, supporting the development and implementation of educational programs, supporting the delivery of the Institute communications plan, and the implementation and coordination of various research studies. The role will require the position to work on multiple projects at a given time across diverse areas of research, education and project management. 

We are looking for someone who has...

  • Health research related degree and/or demonstrated previous research experience in clinical, public health or health services research.
  • Excellent skills in quantitative and qualitative research including database management, data analysis, performance reporting, basic statistical analysis skills and evidence of report writing.
  • Demonstrated high level of communication and interpersonal skills in liaising with senior stakeholders including clinical services, researchers, and internal and external organisations.

About working for SLHD

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
