The Australian e-Health Research Centre (AEHRC) is CSIRO’s national digital health research program, enabling the digital transformation of healthcare to improve services and clinical treatment for Australians and beyond.

We are actively seeking Clinical Terminologists to join our AEHRC team at CSIRO and there are currently three opportunities to pick from depending on your skills and career preference.

If you have the expertise or willingness to build a career in clinical terminology, primarily AMT or SNOMED CT experience, and/or have expertise in FHIR terminology resources and SNOMED CT experience and are enthusiastic about making a hands-on contribution to delivering solutions that can be used across multiple projects in an increasingly information-based industry, then do not hesitate to apply.

These opportunities come with a high degree of flexibility in working arrangements from home and office and have the option to be preferably Sydney or Brisbane based or we can consider applicants from the major cities of Australia with some limited travels (if required).

The common duties across the three positions are mentioned in the PD. However, each role has slightly different tenures of employment and slightly different selection criteria based on expertise in AMT, SNOMED DT or FHIR. Review the attached position description on this job advert and mention your choice of role in the pre-screening question, before applying.

Your duties will include:

  • Undertaking mapping activities and documentation for specific projects.
  • Developing and maintaining support documentation and clearly communicating complex terminology to our collaborators and customers.
  • Understanding and participating in local and international discussions regarding the direction of terminology development and implementation.
  • Working with clients and CSIRO researchers and software engineers in developing clinical terminology, software, and solutions to tackle issues in the collection, integration and analysis of clinical and other health data.
