The opportunity

The Work Health & Safety (WHS) Business Partner is responsible for the provision of work health and safety advice to HealthShare NSW business units and NSW Health agencies, using their work health and safety knowledge and skills to coach customer in maintaining a safe workplace. This also includes assisting the implementation of work health and safety management system packages, programs and projects within business units to support and deliver genuine, practical and measurable safety improvements.

Eligibility requirements

  • Relevant experience in providing work health and safety advice in a large diverse service industry and/or equivalent tertiary or technical qualifications. This includes up to date knowledge of relevant industry and work health and safety legislative requirements, government policies, processes, and operating requirements to support direct reports and business line customers.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing work health and safety management and compliance frameworks, including developing policies, systems, processes, auditing and monitoring of program.
  • Proven effectiveness in coaching and developing knowledge, skills and capability of workers and managers in the area of workplace safety and culture, including engagement, collaboration and negotiation skills and capacity to build and maintain relationships.

  3. When have you had to advise and coach a stakeholder(s) on a work health and safety issue? Identify how you engaged effectively with them and ensured a positive outcome.

You will be asked to complete a psychometric assessment (eg. personality and cognitive abilities assessments) in the recruitment process for this position.

COVID-19 Vaccination Compliance

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (3 doses for Category A roles, 2 doses for Category B roles) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Please provide proof of vaccination if available. The Staff Health Team will access your AIR record if needed, please advise if you prefer the team not to view your vaccination record.
