Innovation Centre Manager
The role
The Innovation Centre Manager is accountable for the day to day management of the Innovation Centre and the identification and implementation of new opportunities for research collaborations to maximise the internal and external use of the Centre.
The Innovation Centre Manager will work closely with key stakeholders to develop the Innovation Centre Strategic Plan to ensure a continual process of improvement and the appropriate systems are in place with which to measure performance.
Reporting to the Director - Innovation Centre, the position will work closely with Director – Scientific Operations & Business Development, Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute Faculty, Innovation Centre Facility Heads and Operations Managers. The role will also interact with a range of external stakeholders including contacts within our precinct partners (i.e. Garvan and St Vincent’s Hospital), UNSW, NSW State Government, consultants and legal advisors.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Manage the day to day operations of the Innovation Centre
- Establish, implement and monitor the financial management plan
- Develop and deliver the research strategy
- Promote the Innovation Centre to encourage its use through state-wide collaborations
- Map capabilities and internal capacity to identify opportunities for commercial work
- Market and establish partnerships to complement Innovation Centre capabilities and capacity
- A Science or Engineering Degree with experience in a research facility
- Comprehensive knowledge of and experience in facility management
- Experience in business development and income generation strategies in medical research
- Experience in business management, budgeting, planning and reporting
- Experience in the negotiation and implementation of collaborative research agreements The ability to build strong working relationships and excellent stakeholder management
About you

- A Science or Engineering Degree with experience in a research facility
- Comprehensive knowledge of and experience in facility management
- Experience in business development and income generation strategies in medical research
- Experience in business management, budgeting, planning and reporting

- The ability to build strong working relationships and excellent stakeholder management
