Associate Professor / Professor of Physiotherapy

Your new role

In this newly created role, you will lead the Master of Physiotherapy program and work as part of a state-wide team to design and deliver core components of our suite of allied health courses. As Academic Lead, you will oversee annual quality review cycles of the program in accordance with UTAS Quality Assurance; Partnerships; and Compliance policies, and will ensure the integrity of the program in accordance with accreditation requirements. Working closely with the Departments of Health and Education, the Tasmanian Health Service and community stakeholders, you will ensure high-quality learning experiences through appropriate place-based curriculum in our entry-to-practice and other professional development courses. Leading a team supporting students to become evidence-based practitioners who can work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams will see you succeed in this career defining role.

Associate Professor/Professor in Physiotherapy will join the School of Health Sciences within the College of Health and Medicine to join the Allied Health Expansion Program. The Allied Health Expansion program is creating new opportunities to better support the Allied Health labour force needs in Tasmania. We are collaborating with government, health professionals, industry and local Tasmanian communities to increase allied health education, training and research opportunities in Tasmania.

What You’ll need to succeed

As a highly influential academic leader, you will demonstrate a strong record in team building and creating effective working relationships, along with a capacity to foster excellence in research and teaching. Registration as a Physiotherapist with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia (PBA), under the auspices of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Authority (AHPRA) will enable you to effectively deliver on the expectations of the role. Achievement in University-level multidisciplinary learning and teaching, with demonstrated experience of flexible learning and familiarity with innovative blended learning & teaching andragogy and digital technologies will enable you to effectively support and facilitate the career development of staff.
