Allied Health Assistant

 

North Richmond Community Health (NRCH) is committed to making healthcare more accessible and culturally relevant. With the recent addition of Victoria’s first Medically Supervised Injecting Room, NRCH works with community members to support social justice principles which afford all people the right to dignity, respect, and the highest quality of care.

NRCH provides a range of medical, allied health, dental and community services to clients from all backgrounds.

The Allied Health Assistant (full-time position, 1.0 EFT) works collaboratively with the CHSP Team Leader, the clinicians across our Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) “Healthy Aging Hub” and CHAD Child Health and Development Teams and the Intake team.

The Allied Health Assistant position works within an interdisciplinary framework to provide prevention, early identification and intervention, lifestyle interventions, assessment and treatment for services such as CHSP team, Dieticians, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Podiatry and the CHAD Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Dietician.

The Allied Health Assistant will provide support to clinicians for individual and groups services for clients and undertake administrative tasks which facilitate good client care.

Essential Qualifications and Experience includes:

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications Cert IV in Allied health Assistance (or equivalent)
  • Sound understanding of the principles of the Community Health Program and the role of Allied Health Assistants in supporting service delivery.
  • Experience providing allied health services in individual, group and consultative models
  • Experience working with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities and interpreters.
  • Demonstrated understanding of consumer directed care, and improving consumer experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience writing reports and capturing data.
