Nominations for the 2013 South Australian Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards are now open, with State Minister for Health and Ageing John Hill calling for health workers, patients and their relatives to enter nominations.

 

“If you have been impressed with the professional practice or dedication of a nurse or midwife anywhere in South Australia – now is the time to let everyone know,” Mr Hill said.

 

“These annual awards recognise and acknowledge the significant contribution nurses and midwives make not only to lives of their patients and their families, but also to their profession and the wider community.”

 

The award categories are:

 

• Nursing Excellence

• Midwifery Excellence

• Clinical Practice (4 categories)

  • Metropolitan (Registered Nurse/Registered Midwife)
  • Rural & Remote (RN/RM)
  • Metropolitan and Rural & Remote (Enrolled Nurse)
  • Team (RN/RM/EN)

• Aboriginal Nurse/Midwife (RN/RM/EN)

• Management (RN/RM)

• Education (RN/RM)

• Research (RN/RM)

• Leadership – Present and Future (RN/RM)

• Graduate Nurse/Midwife

 

Nominations close on Wednesday, 19 December 2012.

 

The finalists will be announced at the South Australian Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards ceremony on Friday, 10 May 2013.
